The 2026 Maffra Triathlon was again a major success, attracting more than 300 participants, including 210 children.

Daniel Barry claimed victory in the men’s solo triple event, finishing ahead of Arki Vardy and Ben Osmand. Mia Whitford won the women’s solo triple, with Paige Burrows and Jenny Peut rounding out the podium. The solo triple event required competitors to complete three full laps of the course.

Other category winners included Harry Whitford (under 18 solo) and Niall Thompson (over 50 solo). In the team events, Old Coots won the male teams category, 9 Lives took out the female teams, and Accidentally Elite claimed the mixed teams division. Schultbergs won the pirates team category, Legally Related the family team section, Killa Vera the under 18 team event, and Tag the under 16 team division.

Schools, clubs and charities were also rewarded for the most entries. St Mary’s Primary School Maffra received $500 after fielding 76 competitors. Boisdale Consolidated School earned $350, while Maffra Primary School collected $150. Honourable mentions went to the Little Jem Foundation and Sale Swimming Club for their strong participation.

Talented youngster, Mia Whitford led home the field in the women’s section of the Maffra Triathlon, with Paige Burrows and Jenny Peut, second and third respectively. (PS)
