Community consultation on the future of the Mallacoota Foreshore Holiday Park has now closed, with East Gippsland Shire Council set to review feedback from residents, visitors and local businesses.
Council has been developing a long-term master plan for the park, aimed at creating a vibrant and welcoming holiday destination that celebrates Mallacoota’s unique character while supporting visitor experiences, environmental sustainability and economic benefits for the region.
The plan will outline potential projects such as infrastructure improvements, new low-impact accommodation options and enhanced shared spaces, while protecting the natural and cultural values of the foreshore.
Council invited feedback through surveys and written submissions, encouraging locals, park users, tourism operators and business owners to share their ideas and priorities for the site. The community input will now help inform the next stage of planning as the master plan is refined.
While many aspects of the park’s future remain open to community influence, council has confirmed that several key elements will remain unchanged, including council management of the park, maintaining its current footprint and ensuring public access to the foreshore and surrounding natural areas.
Council says the feedback received will play an important role in shaping the final master plan for the Mallacoota Foreshore Holiday Park.
