From Mallacoota to Orbost, East Gippsland’s artists and creative communities are coming together to shape the future of creativity.
This month has been a landmark month for local talent, with the Forge Theatre’s IMMERSIVE program leading up to the shire’s first-ever Creative Summit on Saturday, March 28.
The Summit invites artists, makers, performers, and creative enthusiasts from across
the region to celebrate, connect, and explore the future of arts and culture in East Gippsland.
East Gippsland Shire Council Mayor Cr Jodie Ashworth said the Summit highlights the importance of creativity for community wellbeing.
“East Gippsland is full of creative talent, from our coastal towns to the high country,” Cr Ashworth said.
“The Creative Summit is a chance to celebrate our artists, connect communities, and discuss how we can support creativity across the shire.”
Ahead of the main event, the Summit on Tour will visit Mallacoota and Orbost:
– Monday, March 23 – Mallacoota Club Rooms, 1pm – 4pm
– Tuesday, March 24 – Orbost Rainforest Centre, 9.30am – 12.30pm
The main Creative Summit will be held at the Forge Theatre, Bairnsdale, on Saturday, March 28, 10am – 3pm, featuring keynote speakers, creative showcases, networking opportunities, and free buses across the shire.
The Summit and IMMERSIVE program are key elements of the council’s 10-year Culture and Creativity Strategy, designed to support artists, connect communities, and celebrate local creative talent.
