Orbost is preparing to rally behind the annual Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, with a series of local fundraising efforts planned in the lead-up to the main event on Friday, April 3.
An Easter raffle will be held outside Orbost FoodWorks on Wednesday, April 1, and Thursday, April 2, with all proceeds contributing to the town’s final fundraising total.
On Good Friday, volunteers from the Orbost, Marlo and Newmerella CFA brigades will take to the streets, collecting donations from residents. Locals are encouraged to listen for the sound of sirens and meet volunteers roadside to contribute.
Those who miss the collection trucks can still donate by visiting the Orbost Fire Brigade station, which will serve as the central collection point throughout the day. QR codes will also be available for online donations, with all funds added to the Orbost tally.
Last year, the community raised $17,950 for the appeal, and organisers are hopeful of another strong result in 2026.
