SOCIAL BOWLS
There was a good attendance last Thursday afternoon, although the weather was warm, sunny and quite humid.
Due to the conditions, it was decided to play two games of only eight ends.
No team won both of their games, however, on a countback the afternoon went to Bruce Kneebone’s team of Vanessa Frank, Ross O’Brien and Dennis McCann.
There was also a good turnout of members for Sunday’s open pairs, all competing for the available prize money.
The format for the afternoon was three games of eight ends which were played in perfect bowling weather although the breeze became stronger as the matches progressed through the afternoon.
Only one combination, Scott Farnell and Bruce Kneebone, won all three of their games, taking out the $100 prize money for first place.
The runners-up were Maurice and Vanessa Frank, with two wins and a draw, taking home the $60 second prize.
The next planned matches for prize money will be on Sunday, May 3, with details for the afternoon being advised closer to the date.
The next Social Bowls will be played today, with bowlers requested to be at the club no later than 12.30pm.
