Live music will return to the Orbost Arts Centre on April 19, with Slim Gritty and the Prodigal Sons set to headline the next Sunday Sessions performance.
The group features songwriter Tim Collett, who performs under the stage name Slim Gritty, alongside Orbost musicians Doug Kerr on bass and Mark Conte on drums. The lineup also includes guitarist and entertainer Dan Firebird as a special guest for the afternoon.
Together, the musicians will present a program of original material influenced by roots-based genres including rockabilly, hillbilly and rockin’ blues.
Collett, who grew up on a dairy farm in the region and has performed both nationally and internationally, will feature songs from his original albums as part of the setlist.
The performance is expected to include a mix of narrative-driven songwriting and upbeat material designed for a live audience setting, with organisers noting a dance floor will be available.
The Sunday Sessions event is part of the Orbost Arts Centre’s ongoing program of live music afternoons, aimed at showcasing original and locally connected performers.
Doors open at 2.30pm, with music beginning at 3pm and concluding at 6pm. Entry is by gold coin donation, and a bar and snacks will be available.
