With opening night at The Forge Theatre on Friday, May 1 now only weeks away, Bairnsdale Production Line Theatre Company’s &Juliet is shaping up to deliver a visually striking and energetic performance, driven by the strength of its ensemble.
At the heart of the production is a talented lead cast supported by dedicated ensemble members, including an advanced dance troupe, tackling fast-paced choreography set to a soundtrack of iconic pop hits.
The scale of the movement on stage adds a sense of momentum throughout the show, with group numbers designed to be both technically sharp and full of character.
Drawing on strong dance foundations, many cast members bring a level of confidence that allows the choreography to feel effortless, even at its most demanding.
The result is a stage filled with movement that is both cohesive and engaging, with each performer contributing to the overall energy of
the piece.
Production Managers, Jayne Baylis and Emily Vallance, agree that the cast’s commitment in rehearsals has been a highlight.
“The level of talent in this group is incredible,” Jayne said.
“The advanced dance ensemble in particular has brought such strength and polish, and it’s been fantastic to see so many of Casey Davidge and Shawna Bartlett’s (Directors/Choreographers) students bringing their training into the rehearsal room,” Jayne said.
“What’s really exciting is how the entire cast has lifted to meet that level. The energy they’re creating together is something audiences will feel the moment the music starts.”
As the production continues to take shape, the ensemble’s work is proving to be a key ingredient in a show that promises pace, colour and a strong sense of fun.
&Juliet opens at The Forge Theatre on Friday, May 1, running for three weeks and concluding with a Sunday matinee on May 17.
