Mallacoota residents and holiday park users have been given an opportunity to contribute to the long-term planning of the Mallacoota Foreshore Holiday Park through a series of community consultation sessions held recently.
The sessions formed part of council’s early-stage work to develop a master plan for the site, which will guide future maintenance, upgrades and decision-making for the popular foreshore destination.
Council is working with planning consultancy ODIN360 on the project, with community feedback to inform the development of the draft plan.
East Gippsland Shire Mayor Cr Jodie Ashworth said the consultation focused on gathering local input on what people value most about the park and what should be considered in future planning.
“The sessions were about listening to the community and understanding what they value most about the holiday park as we begin developing a long-term plan,” Cr Ashworth said.
Two drop-in sessions were held at the caravan park’s Block 2 camp kitchen near the playground, with one session targeting park users and another open to the wider community.
The consultation builds on feedback already collected through a summer survey, which council says will also contribute to the master planning process.
No formal registration was required for the sessions, with attendees able to drop in at any time during the scheduled hours.
