“Items of interest” was the topic for Orbost Probus Club’s monthly meeting for April.
Lorraine and Gavin Joiner brought along some dried corn on the cob.
These cobs were popping corn, 20 years ago they grew this corn for the popcorn market which is very popular today especially for movie goers.
Audrey Van Den Berg brought along a composition of leather her grandfather made.
This masterpiece was a floral design totally made up with soft leather pieces, the detail was exquisite.
Audrey Hill contributed with a hand-painted china vase.
Audrey admired this vase since she was a small child and carefully stowed it in her hand luggage after a recent trip to Ireland.
This vase is a precious keepsake for her.
Helen Mundy brought in a book called 1948, recalling life and times in that year.
One being that households had to have a license for the radio, and inspectors would come around and knock on the door to check if you had one.
Members shared a lovely morning tea, then an enjoyable lunch at the Orbost Club.
