Bushfire expert John Mulligan last week died, prompting tributes from across the region with people describing him as a dedicated and knowledgeable figure in bushfire research and community safety.
Mr Mulligan was widely respected for his work in bushfire behaviour and risk mitigation and for his contribution to improving understanding of fire dynamics in Australian landscapes.
Over his life, he was involved in a range of research, advisory and most recently published a book, Our Mismanaged Forests, which highlighted reducing bushfire impact and strengthening preparedness in at-risk communities.
