A new webinar series is aiming to demystify artificial intelligence for East Gippsland’s agricultural and regional business sector, with a focus on practical, real-world applications rather than future possibilities.
The Gippsland “AI in Ag Business” webinar series will provide a plain-English introduction to how artificial intelligence can be used to support decision-making across agriculture, food processing and regional organisations.
Organisers say the sessions are designed to cut through the hype around AI and focus instead on how the technology can assist with everyday business challenges.
Participants will be shown live demonstrations using Gippsland-based scenarios, including rising diesel and input costs, supply chain constraints, project delays and competing operational priorities.
The aim is to demonstrate how AI tools can help businesses model different options, test assumptions and reduce risk when making decisions.
The program has been tailored for busy regional operators, including growers, producers, service providers and small-to-medium businesses with limited time, staffing and technical resources.
Organisers say the emphasis is on simple, low-cost tools that can be implemented immediately, without the need for dedicated IT systems, large budgets or an existing artificial intelligence strategy.
A key component of the sessions will also focus on responsible use, including clear guidance on data security, privacy and governance. Participants will be taken through how to use AI tools safely while protecting business information, client data and organisational reputation.
The webinars will be interactive, with open question-and-answer sessions and live problem-solving built into each event. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own business challenges, whether from the paddock, office or boardroom, to explore practical AI applications in real time.

– Wednesday, May 27, 1pm–2pm
