Riviera Quilters will present their 15th quilt exhibition on May 16 and 17 and members are very busy completing a wonderful variety

of quilts.

“We held our last exhibition in 2018, eight years ago, so the group’s members are very excited to at last exhibit some of their beautiful quilts,” Quilters’ president, Melissa Hopley said.

“We are hoping people will come to the exhibition to view some of the amazing work that our members have completed.

“Some quilts are even for sale.”

Apart from the display of quilts one of the major attractions at each exhibition has been the raffle quilt and this year is no exception.

“We always have a raffle quilt at the exhibition. It is a popular feature and this year we have a bright and attractive quilt made by a group of members late last year,” Ms Hopley explained.

The quilt was created by six quilters members sewing blocks one Saturday.

The blocks were then joined together and the finished quilt was quilted beautifully by

Liz Traynor.

Tickets for the raffle will be available at

the exhibition.

The raffle will be drawn at the exhibition and winners will be notified.

The quilt exhibition will also have a trading table where members can sell handmade items.

“The trading table has also been very popular with those attending the exhibition as the items for sale are made by our members and are often unique. They also serve as wonderful souvenirs for visitors to the region,” Ms Hopley said.

Bella Fabrics will have a small shop at the exhibition selling quite a lot of fabrics and other items related to quilting and patchwork.

“We also have refreshments available both days. This year Bairnsdale Neighbourhood House will be providing morning and afternoon teas as well as light lunches and drinks for those attending the exhibition,” Ms Hopley added.

The 15th Riviera Quilters Quilt Exhibition will be held on May 16 and 17, 2026 at Nova Hall, Bairnsdale West Primary School.

Entry is from Cooma Street.

Quilters meets on the first and third Saturdays each month.

Visitors and new members are most welcome.

Details are available on Facebook.
