Ladder leader Omeo Benambra, eyeing a three-peat, continued their dominant run in round five of Omeo netball, comfortably accounting for Swifts Creek 56-23.
Against the winless Demons, the unbeaten Ranges rotated heavily and gave their full squad valuable court time, while still controlling the contest from start to finish.
Indi Ahsam, Lily Hawkins and Georgina Gray were among the standouts for the competition benchmark side, while Sarah O’Brien, Tess George and Perry Elliott worked hard for Swifts Creek.
In the battle for third spot, Bruthen produced a strong second-half surge to shake off a determined Lindenow South outfit in one of the league’s traditional rivalries, securing a 41-26 victory.
Bethany Thompson and Hannah Healey were pivotal in the Bulldogs’ win, while Teagan Edwards, Georgia Steen and Abbie Riley were among the better contributors for the Swampies.
Buchan had the bye and return to action this week when they host Lindenow South.
Bruthen, buoyed by their win, now face a significant test against the Alpine Ranges, who continue to look a class above the competition at this stage.
At the other end of the ladder, Swifts Creek remain in search of their first win, though the bye has delivered four points that could prove valuable depending on results elsewhere, particularly if Buchan maintain form against Lindenow South.
