Unbeaten ladder leader Omeo Benambra’s dominance of Omeo District netball continued last weekend, with the Alpine Ranges emphatic 37-goal winners over third-placed Bruthen.
The reigning premiers made the trip down the mountain full of confidence, having won the past two premierships and remaining unchallenged in 2026. They were able to share court time around and still record another convincing win, as the quest for a three-peat continues.
In the other match, second-placed Buchan held off a determined fifth-placed Lindenow South in a spirited final quarter to win 31–26. The result emphasises the minimal gap between second and fifth, with all sides chasing the benchmark set by Omeo Benambra.
This week, Buchan hosts Swifts Creek, with a victory for the Wilmas further strengthening their case for the double chance early in the season. The Demons will know their best netball can make a real contest of it and will be aiming to make every post a winner.
Omeo Benambra should be too strong for Lindenow South in the other match.
