The Orbost Bowling Club recently held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), with all of last year’s office bearers retaining their positions: Bruce Kneebone as president, Jan Lynn as vice-president, Karen Chenney as secretary, and Vanessa Frank as treasurer.
The AGM was followed by the presentation of certificates and prize money to the 2025–26 Club Champions. Unfortunately, several of the champions were unable to attend to accept their awards.

There were also special presentations made to the club’s successful Division Four pennant side. Trevor Hawkey, who played every game during the season but was unable to feature in the final due to a last-minute change of date by Gippsland Bowls Region, received a medal.
A commemorative wall plaque was also presented to the Division Four side in recognition of their tremendous effort during the 2025/26 season.
The morning’s activities concluded with a barbecue, followed in the afternoon by the Rolling Pin match between the men and women.

Last Saturday morning saw the first Drills and Skills session for 2026, with Ron Hatcher as instructor.
The session, which ran from 10am to 11am, was well attended, with a strong turnout of newer members taking the opportunity to improve their bowling.
Going forward, Drills and Skills will be held every Saturday morning from 10am for approximately one hour. The sessions are free and open to bowlers of all levels.
A warm, sunny autumn day brought plenty of bowlers out onto the green last Thursday afternoon for two games of 10 ends.
At the conclusion of play, four pairs had won both of their games, with Ron Hatcher and Trevor Hawkey declared the winning combination.

Sunday also saw a strong turnout, with bowlers keen to make the most of the warm weather. Numbers were boosted by visitor Geoff Watson.
With new match committee members organising the afternoon, it was decided to play three games of eight ends. The matches concluded around 4pm as the shadows began to lengthen across the green.
There was one clear winner for the afternoon, with a team skippered by Maurice Frank, assisted by Geoff Watson and Jenny Gurney, taking the honours.
The next social bowls will be held on Thursday afternoon, with bowlers asked to be at the club prior to 12.30pm.
