There was still a respectable attendance at Thursday’s social bowls session, despite a few regulars having already left for warmer climates over winter.
Fortunately, numbers were boosted by two visitors in Titch and Diane Hore.
The format for the afternoon was two-bowl fours, with two games of 10 ends being played in cool, overcast conditions.
The winning team was Ron Hatcher (skip), Titch Hore, Steve Shorten and Maurice Frank.

Sunday’s social bowls started in pleasant but overcast conditions, however as the afternoon progressed, the temperature definitely dropped, creating much chillier conditions.
There was still a good attendance despite the season, with bowlers enjoying the two games of 10 ends.
There was only one team that won both of their games, skippered by Hatcher, with teammates Dennis McCann, Shorten and Annette Grmusa.
The next social bowls will be on Thursday, with bowlers requested to arrive at the club prior to 12.30 pm.
Drills and Skills started in very cool conditions on Saturday morning; however, the sunshine soon took the chill away, with bowlers feeling much warmer by the conclusion of the session around 11 am.

The tasks focused on the ability to adjust length and control weight when bowling, with a clear improvement evident as the morning progressed.
The next Drills and Skills will be on Saturday, May 30.
The session is free to any bowler who wishes to attend and commences at 10 am, although quite a few participants turn up earlier for a roll-up to gauge the green’s condition prior to the lessons.
