The presentations for the May fishing competition for the Mallacoota and District Angling Club were held last week, with the Brownlie family prominent among the award winners.
Ryan Dyer took the largest senior bag with an impressive 907.85 points, with the junior section going to Archie Brownlie (359.9 points) and the sub junior to brother, Tom (339), who also was successful in the highest points scoring estuary fish.
His 84-centimetre flathead (134) took the section from Ryan Dyer’s 62-centimetre salmon (117.8) and Rusty Caple’s 41-centimetre bream (106.6).
Dylan Gussenhoven took the Bluewater Division with 85 points.

Archie Brownlie won the secret points competition, and Nellie Brownlie the registration prize.
Several club records were established, including Tom Brownlie in the sub junior section, who achieved great points scores for his 84-centimetre flathead and 95-centimetre mulloway, as did Mackenzie Lett with an impressive 42.5-centimetre tailor.
In the junior section, Archer Brownlie’s 96-centimetre mulloway broke the previous record with 96 points.

Senior record breakers included Brock York with his 43.5 centimetre bream and 43.5 centimetre trevally, and Ryan Dyer with a magnificent 62 centimetre salmon.
The next competition will be held from June 5-8.
