Beatles fans will be taken on a “Magical Mystery Tour” through the story of the world’s most influential band when The Beatles Anthology comes to The Forge Theatre in Bairnsdale on Thursday, June 4.
The two-hour live show promises a journey through the defining eras of The Beatles, from their early “Fab Four” days of matching suits and mop-top haircuts through to their later experimental period featuring some of the most iconic and innovative music in rock history.
The production celebrates the legacy of the band widely regarded as the highest-selling and most influential act in music history, with a performance designed to recreate both the sound and spirit of the era.
Audiences can expect a theatrical tribute featuring period costumes, hairstyles, on-stage banter and attention to detail, including portrayals of the band’s evolving musical styles and stage personas.
From early hits to the psychedelic era of Tangerine Trees, Marmalade Skies and Kaleidoscope Eyes, the show traces the group’s progression along what is often described as their “long and winding road” of musical evolution.
The production also playfully nods to Beatles mythology, including the enduring fascination with the band’s personalities and cultural impact.
Organisers say the show captures the message that still defines the Beatles’ legacy: all you need is love – and a ticket to the performance.
