The Orbost Arts Centre is hosting Enchanted, a special community exhibition running until July 31.
The show, which opened on Friday June 5, has proved to be imaginative beyond expectation, and is made to delight those who come seeking wonder and whimsy.
The show incorporates a huge number of story subjects, with classic fairy tales and characters mixed with lesser known themes.
The Orbost Arts Centre would like to thank the artists who contributed work, which shows great variety in colour, texture and form.
The pieces range from woollen undersea rock pools, lego gardens, classical painting, mosaic, sculptures and works on paper (as well as much more).
The exhibition space, with its warm wooden floors and dual levels, makes for a personal and intimate experience.
It shows work on shelves, plinths and panels where talented creatives have displayed their interpretations of myth in many interesting ways.
Traditional fairytale themes have been covered, accompanied by a wide range of takes on visual storytelling.
There are castles, dark forests, unicorns, gnomes and fairy princesses.
There are little books, from ‘Once Upon a Time’ to ‘Happily Ever After’.
The space is delightful and stimulating for children and adults, showing the potential for original creative works around this fairytale theme.
It is located in the centre’s bottom level, with a variety of new works also for sale in the shop.
Colouring projects are available for the kids, and there will be people’s choice awards presented on closing night to heighten the fun.
