The Orbost Arts Centre has announced the People’s Choice Award winners for its fantasy-themed art exhibition, Enchanted, which concluded its successful run on July 31.
The exhibition, which opened on June 5, brought together an impressive range of local creative talent.
Organisers expressed their gratitude to all participating artists who entered work, noting that the show was highly successful in engaging and delighting visitors throughout its two-month display.
In the adult category, the People’s Choice Award was won by Brodie Heath for her artwork Golden Hour, a detailed and vibrant picture of fairy wrens.
The children’s category prize was awarded to the Orbost Girl Guides for their collaborative 3D mixed-media piece, which creatively depicted life under the sea.
The exhibition was celebrated for its diverse and innovative interpretations of fantasy themes, featuring works that spanned a wide variety of mediums.
Visitors were treated to Lego gardens, woollen undersea rock pools, mosaics, paintings, sculptures and works on paper, each displaying unique approaches to colour, texture and form.
Following the close of Enchanted, the Orbost Arts Centre has transitioned to its next feature exhibition, Beautiful Bygones.
The display showcases a nostalgic assortment of objects from times past, complementing historical themes and heritage events that have run throughout the building recently.
Looking ahead, the centre is preparing to host a major fundraising exhibition titled Art for Hope in support of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
Scheduled to run from October 2 to October 27, this exhibition will take no commission on sales, with 100 per cent of the proceeds donated directly to cancer research.
