Round three of the Federal Government’s On Farm Connectivity Program is now open, offering rebates of between $1000 and $20,000 to help primary producers adopt digital technologies and improve connectivity across their properties.
The funding is provided on a dollar-for-dollar matching basis for eligible GST-exclusive purchases of on-farm connectivity infrastructure and agricultural technology equipment.
Under the program, primary producers can access support to extend internet, mobile, or wireless coverage across farm properties. The grant covers environmental monitoring tools—including weather, soil, and water sensors—alongside digital farm management systems, livestock or cropping technology, remote monitoring, automation and control equipment, and integrated connectivity systems for farm machinery, sensors, and devices.
Priority will be given to primary producers who have not previously received funding through earlier rounds of the program.
Although applications officially close on October 15, farmers are being urged to investigate their options immediately, as funding is capped at $10 million nationally.
Intending applicants are reminded that applications must be submitted through an approved round three program supplier. Equipment purchased prior to application approval will not be eligible for the rebate.
