In a time of great economic uncertainty given the ongoing global pandemic, one would assume people would be erring on the side of caution and playing it safe in regards to their financial investments.
That is certainly not the case in Orbost with three eateries all going under the hammer and being sold within the past three months.
Megan Chambers, her husband Chris Donchi and their children, Oliver and Evie, purchased Cozy Café at the end of March and began to trade in early April.
‘We jumped at the opportunity to buy because it was the best time as it was cheap and we were ready to go,’ Megan said.
Megan is no stranger to owning her own small business as she had set up a successful eyelash extension business, Lash Chamber, not too long prior to the onset of the COVID pandemic which proved quite challenging for her as she was forced to close her doors for weeks on end with no eligibility to any financial assistance from the Government as she had traded for less than 12 months.
