Staff from Orbost Primary School, Orbost North Primary School and Orbost Secondary College met on Monday, October 31 to continue planning the transition to Orbost Community College in 2024.
It was an energising day where staff worked in small groups to talk about how they planned to honour the heritage of their three schools while preparing for the future.
They developed a story for the community about their shared aspirations for the new college, and they reflected on themes such as community, opportunities and learning.
There was excitement around the concept of ‘one town, one school, with many opportunities for students and the community’.
They heard from other educators who had made the transition from primary and secondary schools to a P-12 college, and they toured the new and planned facilities for Orbost Community College.
Extensive planning will occur in 2023.
