Works have commenced at Orbost’s Forest Park.
Access to Forest Park will be limited for the next few months while East Gippsland Shire Council upgrade the facilities.
Visitors to the area are asked to observe construction signage and any directions from the contractor during the works.
The Forest Park upgrade will revitalise and modernise Orbost’s premier passive recreation area and visitor rest-stop to provide a place for people of all ages to gather and rejuvenate.
President of the Orbost and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Samantha Reynolds, said the upgrades would provide significant improvements to the Orbost community.
“The chamber has worked closely with the East Gippsland Shire council in relation to the upgrade of Forest Park with many of our members attending the consultation sessions as well as being proactive in suggesting that the works were not started during the peak holiday season,” Ms Reynolds said.
