The latest round of the Life! program is coming to Bairnsdale soon.
Starting in the first week of August, Life! is designed to help you improve your eating habits, increase your physical activity, manage stress and lower your risk of serious or chronic disease.
A more active lifestyle can also boost your energy levels and improve your mood and sleep quality.
Run by expert health professionals across Victoria, the free program is delivered as a face-to-face, group course or telehealth coaching service over 12 months that shows eligible Victorians how to reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke.
Life! also gives you access to local health professionals, including Gippsland Lakes Complete Health’s (GLCH) dietitian and exercise physiologists.
GLCH dietitian Beth says the program helps put you in the driver’s seat to make small but important lifestyle changes that add up over time.
“The program we ran in Lakes Entrance recently was so successful, we’re now able to work with clients from the Bairnsdale area too,” she said.
“Life! is an exciting free program that is both accessible and tailored to suit your needs. Plus, by improving your overall health, you’ll also help lower your risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke.”
The largest prevention program of its kind in Australia, Life! is funded by the State Government and is managed by Diabetes Victoria. It has already helped more than 75,000 Victorians lead healthier and more active lives.
To find out if you are eligible, chat with Beth by calling GLCH’s customer service team or visit the Life! website for more details.
