An eight-goal to zero blitz in the opening term helped deliver Orbost Snowy a huge round 15 East Gippsland football thirds victory against Stratford at Lochiel Park last Saturday.
The Blues were outstanding from the opening bounce, holding the Swans scoreless as they powered to a 53-point lead.
The eventual margin was 120 as scoring slowed after half time, but the Blues
showed they are more than ready for their finals tilt.
A win this Saturday against Lakes Entrance will lock in a finals double chance and mean they will face minor premier Lindenow in the first week of the finals.
Angus Joiner was the best of the forwards booting seven goals, ably supported by Brayden Fenner with five, three each to Linkoln McGregor and Dean Tatti with Jacob Farley adding two.
Tyson Bills, Fenner and Billy Joiner were the Blues best players.
It was virtually the opposite result in the reserves with the Swans powering to a 119-point win ass it continues to hunt second spot and a finals double chance.
Orbost Snowy started strongly enough, trailing by four goals at quarter time, however being held goalless in the second and third quarters meant the Swans were no match.
The Blues managed a third goal in the final quarter, however Stratford continued to dominate, adding a further six majors to record a convincing win.
Tim Findley, James Joiner, Todd Griebenow, Jack Sanna, Hayden Mitchell and Shaun Waddell were named in Orbost Snowy’s best.
