The spring like weather has been drawing out members for the social bowls sessions at Orbost Bowls Club in recent weeks.
Both Wednesday and Sunday afternoon last week saw two games of 10 ends being played to slowly ease members back into match practice for the upcoming pennant season.
Wednesday’s winners were again chosen on a count back as each team had won at least one game, the winning pair being Bruce Kneebone (skip) and Maurice Frank.
Sunday saw Frank among the winners again, with only one team winning both their matches, assisted by Jurgen Fichtner and Greg Rankin.
The previous week saw the latest round of the Scroungers competition with the highest points scorer on the day being Margaret Coulton with 71 points, with Kneebone and Ron Hatcher coming in a tie with 67 points each.
So the updated leaderboard for Scroungers now shows Geoff Lynn on top with a points score of 214, with Kneebone and Frank next, tying on 195 points each.
The best average score per game is Hatcher on 67.
The next social bowls afternoon will be on today, players to be at the club by 10.30am for a game start of 11am.
Both can bring along their lunch and another game can be played in the afternoon if enough bowlers are interested.
