While doing some renovations at the Orbost Customer Service Centre/Library, East Gippsland Shire Council staff have found some boxes of old Orbost Municipal Band uniforms and flags which date back to the late 1970s (when it’s understood the band wound up).
The Orbost Historical Society has taken a uniform for its collection, however there a quite a few other uniforms (of varying quality) remaining.
The council service centre team is offering the remaining uniforms to anyone who may have had a connection with the band or has an interest in local history.
If you would like a keepsake, see the friendly team at the Orbost Service Centre – first in best dressed.
The uniforms are of varying quality as they have been in storage a long time, but would be a great memory for the right person.
Any items remaining by the end of August will be recycled through council’s textile recycling facility.
