LINDENOW
Current position: Eighth
Points: 4
Strengths: Despite being winless in 2024, the Cats have a big engine room with coach Brett Waddell, skipper Justin Gould and ball magnet Dave Donchi attending most centre bounces. Alexander Stanton is progressing well as a ruckman while youngsters like Cooper Shaw, Peter Harrison, Lachie Carroll and Noah Rutherford continue to impress as they transition to senior football. Todd Alexander has dominated in the last line of defence, often defying the odds.
Weaknesses: Depth is an obvious problem, especially when injury has hit in recent weeks. The Cats will be on the market for a big-bodied forward and key position backman in the off season. There are some good youngsters progressing through the system. It’s not all doom and gloom at Lindenow.
Rising star: Cooper Shaw – has been outstanding in both defence and attack in a side that has struggled to win a game. Rarely plays a bad game.
Run home: Lucknow (H), Lakes Entrance (A), Orbost Snowy Rovers (H), Paynesville (A), Wy Yung (H) and Boisdale Briagolong (A).
Prediction: Certainly aren’t the worst bottom side going around, have been competitive for halves and patches through most games this season. Will be looking to break their duck against Lakes Entrance or Paynesville deserve a win, but time will tell if they can get one.
