Students at Orbost Community College have been busily preparing for their upcoming school production, Inn Cognito, with the small but dynamic cast pouring their heart and soul into rehearsals.
Production coordinator and drama teacher at Orbost Community College, Jennifer Green, said it’s all coming along nicely.
“There still is a bit of work to do in the remembering of lines but it’s great. It’s a small but good cast and it’s great that we have had every single year level (senior) represented,” Ms Green said.
Opening night for Inn Cognito is this evening in the school theatre with tickets available to purchase from the school office.
Additional performances are scheduled for Thursday and Friday evenings.
However, what is Inn Cognito about?
Hollie Berry and her kids are opening up an old resort hotel they recently inherited, and it seems like it’s going to be a roaring success.
First, a pair of bird-watching sisters, Patty, and Pearl Partridge, show up, followed by high profile guests from Liechtenstein — the Count and Countess of Monte Sisco.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t take long for things to go south.
A diamond earring belonging to the Countess suddenly goes missing.
When someone suggests it was swiped by a ghost, the Partridge sisters confess they’re not birdwatchers, but ghost hunters trying to gather footage for a reality show they want to sell.
According to them, the ghost of a mobster, Rat Face Louie, has haunted the hotel since he was gunned down there.
You can imagine everyone’s surprise when the very next guest is a classic gangster-looking man.
He’s followed by a pair of the worst folk-singing hippies ever.
In this spirited comedy, Hollie and her kids quickly learn that nobody is who they say they are.
In fact, you could say they’re all traveling in cognito.
