Members from the Wilderness Coast Artists were privileged to have distinguished artist David Taylor return for a three-day workshop in Orbost recently.
David is respected worldwide for his painting and instruction in watercolour.
With good weather the artists were able to go out plein air painting, meaning to paint out of doors and to grasp the opportunity with help from the master watercolour artist.
The annual general meeting was held on September 3 with positions remaining the same.
Lyn Lewis was named president, Catherine Cotter secretary, Cynthia Boyle treasurer and Mary May workshop coordinator.
Plans are underway to design and create a new mural to replace the old one on the Marlo community hall.
The old one has deteriorated over time due to harsh coastal weather conditions.
A Marlo artist is one of the lucky ones to be chosen to exhibit work in the Michael Beazer Works on Paper $3000 acquisitive prize.
This event opens September 13 at the East Gippsland Art Gallery in Bairnsdale.
Ngaere and friends will exhibit paintings over the school holidays at the Orbost Exhibition Centre opening on Friday, September 20.
The artists meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Marlo boat shed and would love anyone to drop in or better still become a member.
