Numbers continue to improve at the Orbost Bowls Club as the pennant season draws near.
Last Thursday’s session of social bowls became a friendly roll up after several members decided that having had pennant practice in the morning, accompanied by an icy wind, they would go home to warm up.
However, there was an exceptional turnout of players for round six of Sunday’s scroungers competition, with all rinks being brought into play.
The three highest point scorers for the day were Geoffrey Robinson on 73 points, Sue Robinson a close second on 71 with third place held by Scott Farnell on 65.
With only one more round to go, Geoff Lynn still holds top spot on the points board with a score of 304.
Maurice Frank is a close second with 301 and Bruce Kneebone holds third spot with 248.
Kneebone also holds the highest average points for per game on 62 points.
The next social bowls round will be held this Thursday, with players advised they should be at the club no later than 12.30pm, unless they are already at the club having participated in the pennant practice from 10am that morning.
