Bruthen Village Maker has a sustainable vision for the world and is this Friday offering a free event so head along and support small business and artists.
With an attitude to honour the handiwork of the past there will be a large array of vintage treasures on offer including books, collectables, kitchenware, eclectic Japanese antiques textiles, furniture, boxes, unique clothing made from rescued fabrics, sewing memorabilia, artisan works from local makers and around the world.
Bruthen Village Maker plans include slow stitching get-togethers and workshops and is an onsite working studio.
Offering up textiles sourced over many years from across the globe for the creators to make into something new, Bruthen Village Maker believes antique and vintage textiles create a circular economy that breathes life into historical stitching and processes.
A gallery wall is available as exhibition space for a month at a time and enquiries are welcome to bruthenvillagemaker@gmail.com.
A celebration opening will be held at 6pm this Friday at 61 Main Street Bruthen with the first exhibition by Rhonda Gray Art School, Just Add Water.
