<pstyle:2 – Body Text>The Bairnsdale Cricket Association 20/20 competition has had a rain interrupted season, but last week saw four of the five matches completed.

With a number of catch-up matches still to be played, the top four is still a work in progress as the clubs look to be part of the Australia Day action.

Orbost chased down the President’s XI’s total of 6/102 inside of 12 overs at the Orbost Recreation Reserve for the loss of four wickets.

Kaleb Hodson (20), Jake Anderson (16) and Jack Hodson (22 not out) did the majority of scoring for the President’s side, with Curtley Farley (2/10) and Tim Osborn (2/12) among the wickets for Orbost.

The Blues got off to a flyer with Farley (19 from nine deliveries), Braeden Ross (26 from 18) and Luke Endley (20 from 12) all to the fore, while Kaleb Hodson (2/28) was the best of the bowlers for the President’s side.

Paynesville restricted Meerlieu to 7/75 in its impressive win at AJ Freeman, knocking the runs off in just 11 overs.

Mitch Wilmott was the star with the bat for Paynesville making 45, while youngster Kaden Hicks top scored for the Tussocks with 31 from just 24 balls.

Major wicket takers for the Gulls were Harper Clack (2/17), Nathan Scholulz (2/12) and Judah May (2/9), while Mark Carley took 2/7 for the Tussocks.

Lakes Entrance chased down Metung Swan Reach’s 8/88 at the Lakes Entrance Recreation Reserve inside 12 overs.

Hywell Nichols (25) top scored for the Swans with Sam Kincaid (2/20), Phani Kumar (2/13) and Brett Boyd (3/21) doing the damage with the ball for the Seagulls.

Lakes Entrance got significant contributions from Ben John (31 from 23), Jack Timms (23 not out) and 20/20 skipper Josh Sackfield, who was entertaining late in the innings making a slick 26 from 13 deliveries.

The other match between Lindenow South Glenaladale and Lucknow at the Glenaldale Recreation Reserve was abandoned after seven overs due to the weather.

The Magpies were tracking along nicely at 0/61 with Luke Hedger (40 from 26) and Taj Corben (14) setting their side up for a huge target.
