Newmerella CFA hosted their annual Christmas celebration last Saturday evening, bringing together members and their families for a barbecue dinner at the fire station.
The event served as a festive occasion to reflect on a year of achievements and recognise the tireless efforts of the brigade’s dedicated volunteers.
A highlight of the evening
was the presentation of years of service medals, acknowledging the
commitment and service of several members.
District 11 Commander Don Tomkins was on hand to present the awards, which included:
Five years of service: Matt Woerz
Ten years of service: Kylie Schafer and Geoff Walters
Thirty-five years of service: Neil Answer and Jason Griebenow
The recipients were celebrated with applause and heartfelt congratulations, underscoring the vital role each plays in protecting the community.
The evening concluded with warm camaraderie, good food and shared stories, highlighting the strength and spirit of the Newmerella CFA.
