There are plenty of anglers taking advantage of the good weather to seek out the big fish in East Gippsland.

Marlo: Bream, luderick and flathead are biting, mullet are also showing interest in pilchard and pippies. Salmon, tailor and gummy shark are active off the beach, responding well to metal lures.

Bemm River: The entrance is closed at the time of publication. Flathead continue to be active in the lake and channel, with soft plastics, hard bodies and local prawns working well. Bream are a bit on the slow side, but there are some good size species if you can hook them. Surf beach for salmon and tailor taking pilchards and surf poppers.

Tamboon Inlet: There are good numbers of bream and flathead in the system to be had.

Mallacoota: Dusky flathead are still in the inlet, taking lures, soft plastics, pilchards, squid and pippies.

BEMM RIVER: Jacob West enjoyed his time fishing in the region, highlighted by this 61 centimetre flathead. (PS)
MALLACOOTA: Makaira Muscat is having a great time holidaying in Mallacoota, perfectly hooking this magnificent mulloway last week. (PS)
BEMM RIVER: Jordan De Bortli was all smiles after getting this 46 centimetre perch into the boat. The specimen was caught among snags with a motor oil grubb. (PS)
Tommy Zanca and his crew went out offshore near Mallacoota and were happy to land some kingfish. (PS)
