Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a woman following a fatal crash in Chandlers Creek on November 9, 2024.
Emergency services were called to reports a car had allegedly rolled down an embankment just off Monaro Road at about 6.15am. The passenger, an 81-year-old Bairnsdale woman, was located deceased at the scene.
The driver, a 45-year-old ACT woman, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives extradited the woman from the ACT on January 13 and she was
charged with culpable driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death.
She was released on bail from the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on January 15 and is set to reappear on May 28.
