The exciting Hobie Fishing Series 16 kicks off this week, with round two heading to Bemm River this weekend.
The anglers will be backing up after fishing Wednesday and Thursday in round one at Eagle Point.
The kayak fishing tournament has already received more than 107 entries for the Bemm River event which is always a favourite with anglers coming to compete from all over Australia.
The tournament is a cast and retrieve, lure and fly only, and involves an angler returning to the weigh-in area, with their heaviest bag of their live and legal fish (three per day).
Competitors will be able to register from 6am on both days, with a briefing following at 6.30am and fishing sessions running from 7am to 2pm.
The event winner will be determined by the highest combined total over two days, with all fish released back into the water after weigh-in.
The event is always a great boost for the local economy, as well as showcasing everything that is great about the picturesque region.
The field will include last year’s winner, Richard Patterson, whose six fish haul weighed in at 5.87 kilograms.
Patterson is sure to get spirited competition from locals like Lindsay and Steven Pryke, Ruth Beeby and Peter Nord, who all have a strong knowledge of what works and what doesn’t at the Bemm River.
