Despite the pennant bowls season being completed, plenty of bowls is still being played at the Orbost Bowling Club.
As neither competitions nor weather caused problems last week, the club held its two afternoons of social bowls.
Thursday saw a reasonably small turnout of members, so it was decided to hold a single game of 16 ends.
The winners for the afternoon were Bruce Kneebone (skip), Greg Rankin and Jurgen Fichtner.
However, even though Sunday saw a much larger group of players, it was decided to play only two games of eight ends due to the humid playing conditions, but the rain did not hold off, shortening the second game.
The winners for Sunday were Ron Hatcher (skip), Maurice Frank and Margaret Coulton.
The next social bowls afternoon will be held tomorrow, with players to be at the club no later than 12.30pm so that the teams and format can be organised by the match committee.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
The date for the next club championships, which will be the mixed pairs, has been changed due to members having commitments elsewhere.
The championships will now be played on Sunday April 27, commencing at 10.30am.
Entries can be made by adding your names to the list on the outside noticeboard at the club.
A date has not yet been set for the championship fours.
