Sixty years of marriage: A rare diamond

About five per cent of all marriages worldwide make it to 60 years so for Orbost’s Christopher (Chris) and Joy Hodge, it certainly is a monumental occasion.
The couple will tomorrow celebrate 60 years of wedded bliss, however there will be no large celebration with their loved ones due to the ongoing global pandemic.
Instead, it will be a somber affair with just one another due to the current stay-at-home orders.
“You’ve got to be compatible to begin with, otherwise there is no hope,” Chris, who proposed to Joy after just two weeks of the pair meeting, said.
To find out how this love story started, you have to go back almost 62 years.
