The Orbost Poker Run attracted the largest amount of registrations in its history last Saturday.
The fundraising ride, which began in 2011, saw 192 bikes hit the road from Bairnsdale, raising important funds for Ronald McDonald House Monash.
The 2023 event was dedicated to ride president, Kevin Goudge’s partner, Grace, who sadly passed away last year, in honour of her commitment to the charity ride.
On Friday, Orbost was cleaned out of purple ribbons and you were hard pressed to find a bike, car or shirt not sporting a ribbon during the ride.
“The work that she put into this Poker Run - you can’t replace it,” former Orbost Club Hotel publican, Mick Colling, said at the charity auction.
“These events don’t come about without the support of people like Grace.
“It’s a hard job, it’s a thankless job but if you ever get the chance to go to Ronald McDonald House in Monash and see what these little tackers and their families families go through, it’ll touch your heart.”
