Visit Mine Free Glenaladale Market Row site 43-44 opposite the dog arena and sign the petition against the proposed open cut mineral sands mine in your community.
Gippsland Critical Minerals is proposing to construct a mine 20 kilometres northwest of Bairnsdale.
This mine is very close to where families live, farm, work and children go to primary schools, raising concerns about health impacts from silica and toxic dust.
The mine would be located on top of a plateau where there are many gullies feeding into the Mitchell and Perry Rivers (flowing into the Gippsland Lakes).
The vegetable fields of the Lindenow Valley are downwind of the site.
There is a risk of contaminating the river and our agriculture produce. Water storage reservoirs which provide drinking water for many residential communities are only 3.5kms downwind.
Collect your gate signs, stickers, wristbands and sign the petition to question this mining proposal in your community.
Mine Free Glenaladale is fighting to save the existing local food, fibre and farming businesses, safeguarding the health of our rivers and Gippsland Lakes, protecting your town water supplies, ensuring the health of all residents and future generations are not compromised and questioning sustainable water use.
