Many people took advantage of last Saturday’s beautiful weather to take the opportunity to walk on the Snowy Rail Bridge.
About 40 people attended, some having driven long distances.
This was the first time that access was available to walk on the deck of restored sections of Orbost’s historic Snowy Rail Bridge.
In that sense, it was a historic day.
Since the Railway closed in 1987, the bridge and the access leading to it have been off-limits.
Now, in 2025, after the completion of Stage 1, everyone has walking or cycling access to both ends of the bridge, along with all the other interesting features associated with the bridge.
