Three members of the Mallacoota Pony Club achieved some outstanding results at the 2025 State Interschool event held last week at Boneo Park on the Mornington Peninsula.
Ava Mathison led the way, riding her horse, Coco.
She finished first in the Intermediate Bending Race and second in the Intermediate Barrel Race, while Coco claimed his piece of glory, winning the overall Intermediate Sporting Horse Championship.Isobel Palmer put in some consistent performance, riding Bob and Hunter.
Riding Bob she finished fourth in Secondary 70 centimetre One Round Stakes and Secondary 70 centimetre One Round Jump Off.
Whilst aboard Hunter, she finished fourth in the Intermediate 80 centimetre One Round Jump Off and was fifth overall in the Intermediate 80 centimetre Show Jumping.
Abby Mathison also performed well on top of Badger.
She finishing sixth in the Primary 45 centimetre Two Phase, fifth in the Primary 45 centimetre One Round Stakes, sixth in the Primary Grades three to six Bending Race and fifth Overall Primary Grade three to sixin the Sporting Horse.
All rider/horse combinations competed in Combined Training, finishing in the middle of the pack.
