The Orbost Snowy Rovers’ reserves side remain unbeaten in the East Gippsland Football Netball competition after scoring their second consecutive impressive victory, this time over Wy Yung at Bullumwaal Road last Saturday.
The victory sees the Blues well placed in second place on the table, with an interesting match this week taking on another unbeaten side in Lindenow.
It was the Tigers’ first hit out for the season after a round one bye, and they were slow to start, the Blues kicking two unanswered first term goals, to establish a break that Wy Yung was never able to eat into significantly in a tough contest, which saw 13 goals kicked between the combatants.
The second quarter was an even contest and the most attractive quarter of the match, with both sides kicking three goals.
Orbost turned the 10-point half time advantage into a match winning 17-point lead by three quarter time, eventually getting home by 19 points as both sides kicked a solitary goal in the final term, with plenty of weary bodies.
Kayden Harrison and Mark McDonald both slotted two majors for the Blues, with the better players being James Joiner, McDonald, Todd Griebenow, Jason Eaton and Curtley Farley.
The Blues thirds had a bye with Wy Yung not having a side.
They will be looking forward to getting
out there in the home match against the Cats this Saturday.
