Two great sessions of social bowls were held last week at the Orbost Bowls Club.
Thursday’s social bowls were played in cool overcast conditions and saw a slightly lower attendance, after two games of 10 ends the winners were Scott Farnell (skip), Greg Rankin and Beryl Dyce.
Sunday’s session followed the club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The afternoon turned out to be quite special with the match committee declaring a return of the Rolling Pin competition.
This used to be an annual club match where the men played the ladies but hadn’t been held for a year or two.
After two games and 18 ends, the men diplomatically capitulated to the prowess of the club’s skilled ladies with the score being 35 to 31.
AGM
This year’s AGM was held last Sunday, with several changes to the main office bearers.
It was also very pleasing to see some newer members elected to various committees.
The new executive committee consists of president, Bruce Kneebone, vice president, Jan Lynn, secretary, Karen Chenney and treasurer, Vanessa Frank.
The club congratulated all the new office bearers and committee members.
