There have been some great reports of catches over the long weekend, despite the rain setting in on Sunday and Monday.
Marlo: Estuary perch are being caught around the jetties, with the main town jetty fishing well. Bright 95 millimetre shallow and mid-diving lures are effective. Kayakers heading upstream into timbered sections are also landing quality perch. Bream are active throughout the system.
Orbost: The mullet and luderick are on
the chew this week, with sandworms and prawns proving irresistible in the estuaries. Offshore action is heating up to, with gummy shark and flathead taking a liking to blue-
bait and squid.
Bemm River: Bream are active throughout the lake, with local prawns proving to be the standout bait. On the surf beach, salmon are taking well to metal lures, particularly during the incoming tide. The entrance is open, providing excellent water movement and improved fishing conditions across the system.
Mallacoota: Bream, flathead and mulloway are around, chasing hard-bodied lures.
