Thursday social bowls session at the Orbost Bowling Club saw a small turnout, so a friendly roll up was held with both teams declaring the game was draw.
Sunday’s session saw a much better attendance on a beautiful sunny day, however, the low sun and shadows later in the afternoon made westward facing ends a little tricky for most bowlers.
The champs for the day were Greg Rankin (skip), Scott Farnell and Ross O’Brien who won both of their games.
Rankin skipped his team to victory with a colossal 10-shot turnover by trailing the kitty back to take six shots on the last end.
The club is thankful to everyone who volunteers their time to always make social bowls at Orbost Bowls Club a wonderful afternoon.
The next social bowls afternoon will be on Thursday and anyone wishing to play are asked to be at the club no later than 12.30pm.
DRILLS & SKILLS
Last Saturday’s training session was once again, well attended with even the weather providing perfect conditions.
Coach Ron Hatcher had the participants practice their driving techniques.
The next free coaching session will be Saturday starting at 10am and lasting for around one hour, although bowlers are able to leave at any time if they have other commitments.
