Bairnsdale Netball Association had the pleasure of hosting the Netball Victoria Eastern Association Championship last Sunday at the marvellous WORLD precinct.
With 45 squads, around 500 players, and close to 800 people in attendance, the event showcased of talent, teamwork, community spirit and magnificent facilities we have at our disposal in Bairnsdale.
The event saw the Gippsland, East
Gippsland, Mid Gippsland, North Gippsland, Ellinbank and West Gippsland Football Netball Leagues compete, as we as the Lakes Entrance, Bairnsdale, Sale, Moe, Traralgon, Warragul and Leongatha Netball Associations.
Players, coaches, umpires joined the incredible volunteers of Bairnsdale Netball Association alongside Netball Victoria representatives to make the event something to remember.
The WORLD Sporting Precinct was in its element, hosting a high-level tournament like this one and provide a stage for our future stars of tomorrow to make an impression.
The bigger winners from the championships were the West Gippsland Football Netball League, who won the under 17 and 15 Championship divisions.
The Moe Netball Association was victorious in the under 13 championship section.
The winners in the reserve section were the Mid Gippsland Football Netball League in the under 13s and the Warragul Netball Association in the under 15s.
The local Bairnsdale Netball Association made it through to the semi final in the under 13 and 15 Championship divisions.

UNDER 13 CHAMPIONSHIP
Semi Finals: Moe Netball Association defeated Traralgon Netball Association,
15-3; West Gippsland Football Netball
League defeated Bairnsdale Netball Association, 10-7.
Grand Final: Moe Netball Association defeated West Gippsland Football Netball League, 6-5.
UNDER 13 RESERVE
Semi Finals: West Gippsland Football Netball League defeated Bairnsdale Netball Association Red, 8-7; Mid Gippsland Football Netball League defeated Warragul Netball Association, 8-4.
Grand Final: Mid Gippsland Football Netball league defeated Mid Gippsland Football Netball League,16-5.
UNDER 15 CHAMPIONSHIP
Semi Finals: Gippsland League defeated Ellinbank and District Football Netball League, 16-6; West Gippsland Football Netball League defeated Bairnsdale Netball Association, 14-10.
Grand Final: West Gippsland Football Netball League defeated Gippsland League, 18-12.
UNDER 15 RESERVE
Semi Finals: Warragul Netball Association defeated Ellinbank and District Football Netball League, 15-4; West Gippsland Football Netball League defeated Mid Gippsland Football Netball League, 17-13.
Grand Final: Warragul Netball Association defeated West Gippsland Football Netball League, 12-10.
UNDER 17 CHAMPIONSHIP
Semi Finals: Gippsland League defeated Bairnsdale Netball Association, 18-11; West Gippsland Football Netball League defeated Mid Gippsland Football Netball League, 17-11.
