Despite losing to Wy Yung in round 12 of the East Gippsland Junior Football Association, it was one of third-placed Orbost Snowy Rovers’ best efforts for the season.
A two goal to one final terms saw the Blues go down by just four points to the Tigers, who have only suffered one loss for the season to the unbeaten Lakes Entrance.
Hunter Greaves was influential in the forward arc for the Blues, joined in the best players by Jasper Anderson, Beau Russell, Samson and Emmett Clementine.
Lindenow is assured of finals action, with just two rounds remaining in the season, though it will be keen to go into the series in peak form, so it will be working hard in the final weeks of
the season.
In the under 15s, the Blues were no match for the Tigers, who put the match out of reach of Orbost, with 10 goals in the opening term on the way to a 50-point victory.
Premiers last season, the Blues won’t be part of the action at the pointy end of the season this year.
Lachlan Robinson, Jack Scott, Tojoe Martin, Daniel Martin and Jarrah Morrison (two goals) were named
in the best for the undermanned Blues.
Orbost has a bye this week, before hosting Lucknow in the final match of the season.
